In any love story, there are moments when the main character finds that he or she is confronted with four different types of love. When I read the title of this book I was intrigued. I wanted to read it. To learn all about this woman and what the four winds were all about. To my surprise, this story gave me a completely different understanding of love.
This is a wonderful story of a woman and the 4 different voices that tell the story of her life. The story begins in the 1930's and ends in the year 1995. It took me until the end of the book before I finally understood what the "Four Winds of Love" were. The four winds describe the life lessons of this beautiful unique woman. The desertions, the loneliness, the acceptance and the forgiving of the different events in her life. At times I found it to be a bit confused but continuing on into the story my confusion dissipated. The story is not actually being told by this woman but is told through the pages of her diary and letters between her and her friends she meets along the way that was found in an old suitcase full of memories.
